New York New York

Had a pre-bdae makan session with my family at downtown east New York New York, decided to try this cos its been around for quite some time but we've yet to try it and becos we had to pick mum after work from pasir ris, so it came naturally to head to the nearby downtown east. Guess this shall be our last visit.. we kinda prefer Cafe Cartel to this. Thanks Dad for the treat!!

Dozo, Fine Modern Japanesque

Celebrated my bdae with Boonie... He brought me to Dozo, a Japanese fusion restaurant which is a sibling of Tao's Restaurant. They only offer a 6 to 7 course set menu with no ala carte options. I kinda like the decor here, the deep colors used gives this place a posh look. Gosh.. I lurve their plush velvety high chairs against the dark backdrop.
Boonie made reservations early so we got the elevated seats at the corner by the window :) We both ordered different items so we could sample their offerings. Overall, i would rate their service Excellent!! Extremely attentive, friendly and humorous waiters. Food wise, theres' hits and misses. I received a complimentary cheesecake with my name scribbled on the plate with chocolate. They knew my name cos its written on the cake which Boonie brought along. Of course Boonie's cake was nicer, Le Royale - Chocolate mousse 66% layered with hazelnut feullitine, almond success and chocolate genoise with rum from Canele. The waiters kept wishing me happy bdae when we were leaving the place. Haha.. feels kinda tingling to receive such warm service. So heres wat we had...
